North London cc VS Barnet cc
NLCC
If NLCC have serious promotion hopes this season, they must view the last three weeks as a mid-season blip, rather than an ongoing trend. NLCC were put into bat and immediately found themselves on the back foot slumping to 35-3. Swann was on the end of a poor decision, Johns was undone by the unreliable pitch, and Godfrey-Wood had pushed too firmly to cover. The crouch-enders rallied with Askew (27), Mills (26), Green (a gritty 45), and a last wicket stand of 25, but a final score of 169 all out was at least 30 under par. Such a total required that North London took all available chances which unfortunately didn’t happen. The wicket lacked any pace at all which didn’t suit the Wakeford brothers who, having taken 19 wickets between them in the past two games, only managed one for a hundred this time out. Veteran Tom Amedee offered some hope with a classy spell in which he took four wickets, but Barnet passed the total with 7 overs and four batsman to spare.
MOM- Jim Greene and TOM Amedee, (2 oldest players).
