Indian Gymkhana 2's vs NLCC

Being demoted to the championship means travelling to grounds where the teas are not so great and grounds not comparable to the enfield's, Old Act's etc. However it does mean resuming battles with old rivals and i'm sure players like Bernie Chapman and Ilyas Malick would loved to have taken part v Gymkhana, nevertheless with Joe Howard back as skipper NLCC were confident of anothet fine performance. Having been inserted, half an hour later the word survival was more important than victory as NLCC were blown away and strugglin at 30 - 4. The partnership that followed showed why there is no reason why NLCC should not be cahllenging for promotion as both Olly Hubbard and Toby Fisher slowly but surely rectified the damage and put the team back on track. With Fisher on 49, he skied a delivery from Gymkhana's young but talented spinner, to end a valuable innings. Ali joined Hubbard at the crease and they looked to be cementing the innings when Hubbard on 45 was unfortunately run out for the second week running. With Amedee and Howard soon falling Gibbons and Ali did well to take the score up to a respectable 185-9. The wicket was never easy, but Gymkhana were in control , despite Richard Hall's early break through. At 120-2 NLCC knew they were in a game, but a fine caught and bowled from Toby Fisher which removed Gymkhna's danger man Punky, brought NLCC back into the game. With Salman Ali bowling a miserly spell and picking up wickets, tom Amedee came alive and with two quick wickets, Gymkhana were reduced to 8 down, however time was not on North London's side and Gymkhana held on in a truly entertaing game.

There were firn performances, with Toby scoring 49 and taking a vital wicket before breaking his finger nearly, Tom Amedee vital wickets, Tom Gibbons cameo innings, Salman Ali useful contribution with the bat and fine bowling figures of 17-3-39-4, and 16 year old Olly Hubbard who gets better each week, and looks to have a great future if he can stop getting run out. Anotehr fine team performance and well done to every one

M o M - Toby Fisher - Good all round performance.
